Picacho State Park is one of those rare state parks that unless you’re a local you wouldn’t even think about stopping for a hike in the hot Arizona desert. But as most gems, once you find out what is there, then you’ll just have to go. My buddy and I were in the area when we decided to hike the Picacho State Park. We were very much surprised just how incredible and hard the hike would turn out to be. The round trip from bottom to the top and back down was more then ten miles long but very much worth the risk and length. You’ll have to use metal ropes to scale and climb up the mountain for large stretches of the hike but once you get passed those dangerous areas you’ll be blown away by just how incredible the view is at the top.
